Let Me Introduce Myself....

These posts are my opinions only. My name is GOP Mommy and I am 30 years old. I am married to my best friend, true love and prince charming. I gave birth to an amazing and unbreakable spirit in May 2007 and was blessed with our second child in Nov. 2008. I have a penchant for soda/fountain pop and juicy pear flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans. My daughter loves Elmo and I am learning to accept that. I am happy, blessed and thankful.

A little about me: I am now a registered Republican and I make Alex P. Keaton look like a flaming liberal. I believe in a small government since much of what the government touches turns to crap. I am a fiscal conservative though I tend to be more lenient when it comes to (some) social issues.

Overall, I find hypocrisy infuriating. My least favorite word is "Entitlement" and I strongly believe in personal ownership and accountability. I can't stand the "victim" mentality that we are breeding into our people generation after generation. If you want something, earn it. If you refuse to work for it, then quit whining that you don't have it. Life isn't fair, nor is it supposed to be.

I certainly don't know everything, and I don't claim to. I do research the topics I write about extensively and I tend to look for reliable sources of information. I am not often going to waste the time citing all the sources of my data to validate my opinion, because it's just that, opinion. Also, I am a type-A, very anal retentive person when it comes to writing and grammar and I would have an obsessive need to make sure my citations are MLA formatted. I write for enjoyment so I don't want to feel like there is a typical liberal professor watching over my shoulder waiting for me to screw up so he can pounce on me (as many have). Plus, I am lazy. I want to vent and be done-so the Modern Language Association can bite me if I am not spot on. Blogs are meant to be informal:)

These posts are simply my cathartic way of responding to the left, to the news stories, to the media, to the legislators, to the decline of our freedoms, to the nanny state, to the ill-informed voters that believe whatever the headlines say...to the world. I can write my thoughts and feelings out, or I can go crazy and for those that know me, I am all full up on crazy.

If what I say offends you, feel free to not read further.
